DENVER – The 2025 National Civics Bee Colorado State Finals winner, Cameron Parker, will represent Colorado in the national championship taking place tomorrow morning in Washington, D.C. The National Civics Bee, an initiative of The Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation in partnership with the Daniels Fund, encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.

“As we approach our nation’s 250th anniversary, it’s inspiring to see students like Cameron engage in the democratic process and help shape the future of our state and country,” said Colorado Chamber Executive Director Rachel Beck. “We wish Cameron the best of luck at the national championship and we know he’ll make Colorado proud!”

“The National Civics Bee Championship is a remarkable opportunity to celebrate young leaders who are passionate about civics and committed to strengthening their communities,” said Hanna Skandera, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund. “We’re thrilled to support this effort and wish every participant the very best as they continue to shape a brighter future for our nation.”

Ahead of the competition, Senate President James Coleman hosted a send-off for Cameron and his family at the State Capitol on November 6.

The 2025 National Civics Bee Championship brings finalists from 39 states to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation headquarters to test their civics knowledge, skills and disposition as they compete for big prizes. The competition aims to inspire middle schoolers to become better informed about American democracy, to engage respectfully and constructively in the community, and to build greater trust in others and institutions.

In May, the Colorado Chamber Foundation hosted the Colorado state finals, where 18 middle school students from across the state demonstrated their civics comprehension for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes. As the state champion, Cameron Parker won the state title, a tablet device and a $1,000 cash prize, advancing to the national competition to compete for the Bill Daniels National Civics Award and a $100,000 education savings account.

Essay submissions are currently open for the fourth annual 2026 National Civics Bee. Students can enter and submit an essay to any regional partner location that is near them between now and February 3, 2026.
