DENVER – The Colorado Chamber of Commerce and the SHRM Colorado State Council today announced registration is open for the second annual Companies that Rock the Rockies program, which recognizes Colorado employers creating the best workplace cultures for their employees. The process is free for businesses to participate and will honor the top companies for 2026.
“We’re so excited to bring this program back for the second year in a row to recognize employers creating workplaces that elevate our state’s reputation and set the standard for what it means to work in Colorado,” said Colorado Chamber President and CEO Loren Furman. “Last year’s program was so successful that we’re expanding this year through a new partnership with Colorado SHRM State Council. This will bring the program to new audiences to recognize the innovative ways Colorado companies support their employees, foster collaboration and create inclusive environments. We encourage businesses from every industry and every corner of the state to participate in the 2026 program!”
The new partnership with SHRM Colorado State Council will broaden the program’s reach and highlight the impact businesses have in making Colorado a great place to work.
“SHRM Colorado State Council is honored to partner with the Colorado Chamber of Commerce to celebrate companies that truly ‘Rock the Rockies’,” said State Director Elect of SHRM Colorado State Council Kirstin Guptill. “As the state’s representative association for SHRM, we are committed to being the voice of all things work—championing workplace cultures that empower people and create better workplaces for a better world. This program aligns perfectly with our mission, and we can’t think of a better way to showcase the incredible employers shaping Colorado’s future.”
Companies wishing to participate should apply on the Companies that Rock the Rockies website before November 21, 2025. Participating employers will complete a two-part assessment. Part one will be an employer questionnaire asking about policies and benefits and part two will include a confidential and anonymous employee engagement survey. Those that make the Companies that Rock the Rockies list will be announced in early 2026 and will be honored at a special awards event hosted by the Colorado Chamber later in the spring. The ranked winners will also be announced at that time.
The selection process will be managed by Workforce Research Group (WRG), which operates top workplace programs across the nation. There is no cost to participate. For an optional fee, applicants can access WRG’s employee feedback data dashboard to see the results of the employee survey and associated benchmark reports.
In order to be eligible, companies must have at least 15 full- or part-time permanent employees working in Colorado, be a for-profit or not-for-profit entity, have a physical operation in the state, and have been in business for at least one year.
