DENVER – The Colorado Politics and Gazette newspapers are now syndicating business and public policy news from The Sum & Substance, bringing the Colorado Chamber of Commerce’s digital publication to broad audiences statewide.

This arrangement allows Gazette publications to reprint selected stories from The Sum & Substance.

“We launched The Sum & Substance last year to provide informative coverage of the issues shaping Colorado’s economy, from legislation at the State Capitol to regulations impacting the business community,” said Loren Furman, president and CEO of the Colorado Chamber. “This will allow us to reach wider audiences and keep Coloradans informed with news that matters to Colorado business.”

The Sum & Substance is an online news site created by the Colorado Chamber last year giving readers an insider’s perspective on the politics and policies impacting Colorado’s business community. Award-winning former journalist Ed Sealover serves as editor of the news site, providing trusted and fact-based reporting to readers. Sealover spent 28 years in journalism prior to joining the Chamber and has been covering the Colorado Capitol since 2007.

“Ed Sealover’s work as a journalist has been exemplary – something he continues to do as editor of The Sum & Substance,” said Vince Bzdek, Executive Editor of the Gazette newspapers.

“Our goal with The Sum & Substance is to get people talking more about business issues, so that these important matters that affect the ability of everyday Coloradans to find work and achieve economic mobility can garner attention and not just allow hot-button issues to suck all of the oxygen out of the Capitol,” Sealover said. “We take great pride in the fact that The Gazette has recognized that we cover these issues fairly. This will help everyone to understand these issues more thoroughly and raise the level of dialogue around them.”

Colorado Politics, The Denver Gazette and The Colorado Springs Gazette are featuring stories from The Sum & Substance on a regular basis for online, print, and e-edition platforms. The Sum & Substance will continue publishing regular digital stories on its website and through its newsletter.
