Topic of Discussion:
With the signing of the Colorado Privacy Act (“CPA”) into law this year, Colorado will be the third state to pass comprehensive consumer privacy legislation, granting Colorado residents the right to access, correct, and delete their personal data held by businesses, and the right to opt-out of processing their data for targeted advertising, sale of personal data and profiling. Violations of CPA can result in penalties of up to $2,000 per violation with a maximum penalty of $500,000 for related violations. Learn what businesses need to know to prepare before the law takes effect July 1, 2023.
