Rachel has worked in municipal government policy, research, and communication for 15 years. She is currently Government Affairs Manager for the Colorado Springs Chamber and Economic Development Corporation, the primary advocate for the Colorado Springs business community and the connection between business and government, business and business, and business and the workforce.
As a former public information officer for the City of Colorado Springs and Colorado Springs Utilities, and as a consultant, Rachel has helped citizens access their municipal government, understand community issues, and has helped craft initiatives to improve the Pikes Peak region’s infrastructure and land use. She most recently served as Policy and Communication Manager for the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, where she analyzed state legislation for the council’s 16 local governments, administered its citizen oversight committee, and solicited public input for regional transportation, aging, and air and water quality plans.
Rachel serves on the Board of Directors for the Council of Neighbors and Organizations and is a past board member of the Palmer Land Trust, Colorado Springs Press Association, and UCCS Gallery of Contemporary Art. She is also an active community volunteer and a graduate student at George Washington University.
