The Colorado Chamber Health Care Council met this week to receive updates on proposals making their way through the legislature and take positions on introduced bills.
The Council supported legislation that would reduce administrative burdens in health care and voted to amend a bill setting requirements for artificial intelligence in psychotherapy. The group then discussed strategy on proposals regulating artificial intelligence in health care and establishing unreasonable fees on businesses.
SB 138: Support
The bill would reduce administrative and regulatory burden for health care providers and insurers by ensuring state agency rules and regulations are routinely reviewed. It also repeals certain excessive licensing and data reporting requirements. The Chamber voted to support the bill because it strengthens Colorado’s rule review system and provides relief to a heavily regulated industry.
HB 1195: Amend
This legislation proposes certain requirements for the use of artificial intelligence systems by psychotherapy professionals. The Health Care Council voted to amend the bill to avoid the potential for unintended consequences to affect certain backend AI systems.
