Last week, 35 emerging leaders from 29 companies across Colorado embarked on their transformative journey with Leadership Colorado! Kicking off the year with energy and insight, participants gained a firsthand look at the Colorado Chamber of Commerce’s efforts to foster a pro-business environment.
The day continued with an exclusive tour of the Colorado Capitol, including the iconic Dome, Mr. Brown’s Attic, and the House and Senate galleries. They expanded their understanding of state government through a dynamic discussion with Representative Sean Camacho and Representative Anthony Hartsook. Alongside expert guidance from our own Ed Sealover and testimony from Meghan Dollar, the class participated in a mock bill hearing on HB26-1003, which makes changes to the CLIMBER loan fund for small businesses to help the state extend loans to more companies — offering a real-world glimpse into the legislative process.
A highlight of the day was an engaging presentation by Joe Rice, Director of State and Local Government Relations at Lockheed Martin Space. The session concluded on a high note with a networking happy hour, where participants began building new relationships.
