Today is the final day for Upper Arkansas Valley middle school students to apply for the National Civics Bee, a nonpartisan competition organized locally by the League of Women Voters and the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce.
Students enter by submitting a four-paragraph essay proposing a creative idea to improve their community. The top-scoring essay finalists will advance to a live quiz-style competition scheduled for April 26 in Buena Vista.
