In Colorado, we’re fond of thinking of ourselves as pragmatists. We’re the type of folks that know how to put aside differences in favor of solving problems. We’re the sort who believe strong communities and a healthy economy make a better quality of life for each one of us.
That’s why we all must take up the cause of university-led research as a real and meaningful contributor to that better quality of life we want for Colorado and our entire country. As we watch federal cuts challenge the ability of our high education institutions to keep doing meaningful research, there’s no better example of what we should all champion than the foundational research happening at Colorado State University in Fort Collins and the University of Colorado in Boulder.
