Today’s feature is Kevin Astala with Ace Office Furniture
Ace Office Furniture was founded in 2015 as a bold venture between Kevin Astala and his father. With no prior experience in the office furniture industry and a background in marketing, Astala brought a determined, entrepreneurial spirit to the table. From day one, he immersed himself in every aspect of the business, learning products, building vendor relationships, supporting customers and refining operations. That hands-on approach helped Ace grow from a used furniture shop into a trusted brand.
Running a small business comes with its challenges, and Astala had his share of “trial by fire” moments. One of his biggest obstacles was entering an unfamiliar industry while wearing every hat in the business, but each challenge helped shape his leadership and the company’s identity.
One of Astala’s proudest accomplishments has been transforming an idea into a company that helps others grow. Ace Office Furniture has supported countless clients on their own business journeys, from outfitting a single office chair to designing full workspaces. For Astala, seeing customers return as their businesses expand is especially meaningful. Building something substantial alongside his family and creating long-standing client relationships is what he considers real success.
As the business has grown, so has its vision. The company’s new division, Offices by Ace, takes a strategic approach to commercial contract furniture with a focus on custom solutions, large-scale projects and tools that streamline everything from pricing to design. Sustainability is also a priority, with partnerships like Live Edge Denver and a commitment to responsibly sourced materials that combine thoughtful design with environmental responsibility in every commercial space.
Through it all, Ace has remained people-focused at its core. Every client interaction is seen as an opportunity to contribute to someone’s story, whether they’re starting a business or reinventing a workspace. The company’s showrooms are designed to inspire conversation and creativity, and each project is approached with a personal touch.
Astala’s advice to aspiring business owners: “Don’t wait until you feel ready, because you never truly will. Just start. There’s no perfect time, no perfect plan—only action. When my father and I started Ace, we had zero experience in the industry, but we had drive and the willingness to figure it out. I’ve learned that failure isn’t the enemy—it’s part of the process. That’s why my personal mantra is ‘win or learn.’ You either get the outcome you hoped for or a lesson that makes you stronger for the next round.”
Beyond the showroom, Ace continues to give back, supporting local organizations like the Hope Center. For Astala and his team, community involvement is both a responsibility and a privilege of being a local business.
Looking ahead, Ace Office Furniture is focused on deepening its roots in Colorado, expanding its reach and continuing to build strong, lasting relationships. With a clear vision and determination, the company is prepared for its next phase of growth.
