2024 General Election Results in 93% Batting Average for Colorado Chamber Endorsements

Ballots continue to be counted in the Colorado General Election, and the CO Chamber team is tracking the results on State legislative races and ballot initiatives that impact businesses as they are reported.  Thus far, the CO Chamber’s batting average on its endorsed legislative candidates and incumbents has achieved an impressive 93%!

Update on State Legislative Races:

The Colorado Senate Republicans were able to maintain their twelve-seat hold and blocked the Senate Democrats’ chance to secure a super majority. In the House, Democrats continue to retain a large majority while House Republicans may still gain seats as ballots are counted. Overall, the candidates and incumbents endorsed by the CO Chamber have a 93% winning record in their respective races and we look forward to working with the new and incumbent legislators at the State Capitol on both sides of the aisle to improve Colorado’s business climate and increase the state’s competitiveness.

See the results below on the Colorado Chamber’s endorsed state legislative races.

Once the results are final, legislators at the State Capitol will choose their leadership on Friday, November 8th, and begin drafting legislation in preparation for the 2025 Legislative Session. The CO Chamber will be monitoring legislative activities closely to determine which bills will return from prior legislative sessions that impact Chamber members.

Congressional Results:

As for congressional candidates, most of the incumbents won their races, however, Congressional District 8 is still too close to call.  That race is head-to-head between incumbent Congresswoman Yadira Caraveo (D) and former House legislator Gabe Evans (R).  Newcomer Jeff Hurt (R) won in the Congressional District 3 race and former US Representative for CD 3 Lauren Boebert (R) will represent the newly formed Congressional District 4.

Statewide ballot initiatives:

With several initiatives up for a vote, the statewide ballot was a long one. While the Colorado Chamber endorsed Proposition 131 with the hope that it would bring more moderates into politics, the measure did not pass with 55% of voters casting a “No” vote.

The Chamber staff will continue to monitor election results as they are finalized. For any questions regarding this update, please contact Meghan Dollar at [email protected].
