The Colorado Chamber is recognizing members of our staff to highlight the hard work they do to be a unifying voice for business and champion a healthy economic climate to secure Colorado’s future.
As Senior Vice President of Communications for the Colorado Chamber, Cynthia oversees the Chamber’s communication strategies. Her role encompasses media relations, digital marketing, social media, public relations and strategic research. The communications department supports every other department at the Chamber, ensuring that their messaging is aligned and that the important work of the Chamber team is publicized.
What Cynthia loves most about her role at the Chamber is the ability to bring much-deserved attention and recognition to the hard work of the incredible Chamber team. Seeing tangible results in the form of earned media, social media engagement and legislative success is what she finds most rewarding.
A project that Cynthia is most proud of is launching the Chamber’s partnership with Aspen Technology Labs to publish quarterly jobs reports across the state. This data not only helps the Chamber on its internal strategies to improve Colorado’s business climate, but it also helps keep the public informed about the state and regional economy and job market.
Looking forward, Cynthia is excited about the Coolest Thing Made in Colorado awards. This is one of her favorite programs at the Chamber because it highlights and promotes some truly amazing businesses across the state that she never even knew existed. The opportunity to showcase these innovative companies and their contributions to Colorado’s economy is something she’s excited to do in coming months.
Outside of work, Cynthia enjoys hiking and camping in the mountains with her husband Jaron, son Clark, and golden retriever Lincoln. She also has a passion for landscape photography and karaoke, especially when it’s a Taylor Swift song.
Having moved to Colorado over five years ago, Cynthia loves the quality of life the state offers. Living here means having the Rocky Mountains at her doorstep, with easy access to the best hiking and skiing in the country. For Cynthia, there’s no other place like Colorado to live and raise a family.
One of her favorite spots for outdoor activities is the San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado, renowned for its stunning alpine lakes and fall colors. She loves taking her 4Runner on the old mining roads and mountain passes in the area. For those seeking hidden gems, Cynthia recommends backpacking in the Weminuche range because it’s so isolated with fewer crowds.
