Technology Alliance Meets During Final Weeks of Session

In the last few weeks of the 2024 legislative session, many of the Colorado Chamber policy councils and alliances are having their final meetings of the session. Today, the Colorado Chamber Technology Alliance met to receive updates on legislation and took positions on current bills.

The group discussed and took an “amend” position on SB 205, a consumer protections bill that establishes standards and requirements for the development and use of artificial intelligence systems. The alliance would like to see the bill amended to become a task force.

Also, the alliance moved from an “amend” to “neutral” position on HB 1130, a bill that would amend the Colorado Privacy Act to require protections and controllers for biometric data. The Chamber has worked with the bill sponsors on multiple amendments to the bill.
