More than 60 representatives of local chambers of commerce from around the state, including chamber executives, staff, business members and volunteers joined the Colorado Chamber for this year’s 2024 Chamber Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, March 26.

Participants were welcomed by Colorado Chamber President & CEO, Loren Furman who shared recent research on Colorado’s competitiveness rankings and the Colorado Chamber’s strategic plan to address vulnerabilities and secure our state’s economic future. Next, they had the opportunity to hear an overview of the multiple, complicated air quality, ozone and environmental policies currently being proposed, and their implications for Colorado businesses as well as the economy by Doug Benevento. Benevento is a Partner at Holland & Hart, LLP specializing in environmental law who formerly served as the EPA Region 8 Administrator, and who currently serves as Chair of the Colorado Chamber Energy & Environmental Policy Council. The chambers also heard from Laura Rodriquez, Chief Strategy Officer, Colorado OEDIT who discussed the state’s work to keep Colorado’s economic development position strong. Following the information sessions at the Chamber, local chamber leaders made their way to the state capitol for one-on-one meetings with their legislators about their members’ business priorities.

All members of the Colorado Chamber Alliance are invited to participate in this annual event which gives an opportunity for both small, medium and large chambers to join forces and ensure that businesses from rural, urban and suburban communities from across the state have a voice at the capitol.
