Chamber Energy & Environment Council Opposes HB 1359

On Wednesday, the Colorado Chamber’s Energy & Environment Policy Council convened and opposed HB 1359, which requires several layers of notifications to the public by oil and gas operators. The bill requires the oil and gas industry to notify the public for incidents involving air emissions or water contamination, public conveyances and that result from a clear act of sabotage, vandalism or a terrorist activity.

The Chamber is opposed to the bill due to the difficulty of implementation and the overreaching nature of the bill.
