DBJ: Why employers should be excited about the Rose on Colfax

On Wednesday, a large group gathered under a tent at 8315 E Colfax Ave. to celebrate the grand opening of a new affordable housing community — the Rose on Colfax.

Along with offering 82 affordable housing units, the Rose is also the location of a 5,600-square-foot child care center run by Mile High Early Learning, a Denver-based preschool provider. Called the Mile High United Way Early Childhood Education Center, it can provide care for up to 48 babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

The Denver Business Journal has previously reported that there are about two open jobs for every unemployed person in the state. Businesses are feeling the pressure: Last year, a survey conducted for the Colorado Chamber found that 48% of respondents had difficulties filling open positions.
