A Colorado-built spacecraft that gathered samples from an asteroid was the product to beat in this year’s Coolest Thing in Made in Colorado contest.
OSIRIS-REx, a space probe built by Jefferson County-based Lockheed Martin Space, took home first place bragging rights in the Colorado Chamber of Commerce competition, the organization announced at its annual meeting on Thursday.
The second annual contest drew 100 nominations for products manufactured across the state. That list was then narrowed down to 10 by an independent selection committee, bringing products to the spotlight such as a new kind of guitar called the Dobrato, a wearable device that accelerates healing with light therapy, and a lavender chocolate bar.
