Celebrate National Small Business Week!

For over 50 years, National Small Business Week (NSBW) has celebrated the small businesses that are the backbone of our nation and our local communities, highlighting the integral part they play in shaping the economy. NSBW takes place annually during the first week of May. This year, it will be held on April 30th through May 6th, 2023.

The U.S. Small Business Administration reports that Colorado is home to around 691,230 small businesses, constituting an impressive 99.5% of all businesses operating in the state. This highlights the fundamental role that small businesses play in the broader business landscape. Small businesses are present in every sector throughout Colorado, ranging from technology firms to food service establishments. The small business community in the state is flourishing and expanding, with over 1.2 million workers employed by small businesses statewide.

This week, we encourage you to support small businesses in your community. Whether you’re ordering takeout from a local restaurant, shopping at a neighborhood boutique, or hiring a small business for a project, your support makes a big difference. By supporting small businesses, you’re helping to create jobs, stimulate economic activity, and foster a thriving local economy.

To celebrate NSBW, the Colorado Chamber will be spotlighting Colorado small businesses and recognizing the contributions of small business owners, entrepreneurs and their employees to our local communities.

In addition, the Colorado Chamber has a special small business membership for certain companies. Learn more about our small business membership options today.
