Former Speaker of the House Appointed as New Executive Director of Department of Revenue

On Wednesday, Governor Polis announced the appointment of former Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives Mark Ferrandino as the new Executive Director of the Department of Revenue. Most recently, Mark was the Deputy Superintendent of Operations and CFO for Denver Public Schools, and also served in the Colorado House of Representatives on behalf of House District 2 (Denver), from 2007 through 2014. He held one of the highest leadership positions as Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2012 – 2014.

The Colorado Chamber of Commerce worked closely with Mr. Ferrandino while he served in the House of Representatives and specifically on tax policy legislation and regulations. We look forward to working with him in his new role and believe he will be a strong leader for the Department. Mr. Ferrandino replaces Lu Córdova, who resigned recently as DOR’s Executive Director and now serves as an Advisor to the Governor on Efficiencies & Digital Transformation.

Additionally, another new face has joined the Department of Revenue! Cooper Reveley, was recently hired as DOR’s new legislative liaison and replaces Jean Robinson who served in this role from 2015 – 2020.
