Proposition DD is on the statewide ballot for Colorado’s election next Tuesday, which will create a new source of funding for the state’s water infrastructure.
The initiative asks voters to authorize betting on sports in Colorado, allowing the state to tax the casinos and operators administering the bets. Approving of the measure would allow for up to $30 million per year in new funding towards the Colorado Water Plan, which aims to address the state’s water challenges and plan for future growth.
Maintaining adequate water resources is critical to the state’s economy, impacting every consumer and industry across Colorado. The Colorado Chamber’s mission statement champions a healthy business climate and supports strengthening Colorado’s critical infrastructure, including water. That’s why in August 2019, the Colorado Chamber’s Executive Committee voted to support Prop DD.
