Chair’s Roundtable: Managing Speech without Silencing Voices – by invitation
Divisive expression can create conflict in the workplace. What options do you have to manage expression that are legal, proactive, and consistent with your values and culture?
We’ll answer these questions, and more:
- “It’s free speech!” your employees proclaim. Does that apply to the work environment?
- “It’s my workspace so I can decorate it how I want to.” Is that true?
- “We demand (employer) stop doing business with (customer based on politics).” What should you do?
- “The majority of us want to show support for (cause/candidate) – we should be able to do that.” True?
- “It’s my personal social media account so I can say what I want.” Are there limits (what?) when that impacts a company’s brand?
Panelists include Mark Truax, President & CEO of Pac/West Strategies, Heather (Joyce) Hancz, Managing Attorney, Employers Council, and David Mafe, Chief Diversity Officer and VP of Human Resources, UCHealth.
This event is for members and invited guests of the Chair’s Roundtable. If you did not receive and invitation and would like to explore joining the Chair’s Roundtable, contact Dave Tabor, [email protected].
