Peter M. Weilbach is Senior Manager, Capture Management, at Space Systems Strategy and Business Development, Campaign Strategy and Operations Group at Lockheed Martin Space Systems
Company (SSC). In this role, he provides leadership of the Capture Operations (CO) group responsible for capture compliance across SSC captures and corporate focus programs, including major competitive, sole source follow-on, and new business pursuits. He manages 8 Capture Management and Excellence Professionals responsible for capture strategy development and support services, proposal color team facilitation and support services, business capture guidance, tools, and training. In addition, the group maintains SSC capture metrics and is responsible for business area and corporate reporting. Since rejoining Lockheed Martin in December 2014, Mr. Weilbach is Deputy Chair of the Corporate Capture Leadership Development Council and subject matter expert in business development, capture management and program management with over 32 years of leadership experience in the Aerospace and Defense marketplace. Prior to his current assignment at Lockheed Martin, Mr. Weilbach spent 1 year at Exelis Geospatial Systems (now Harris) as Senior New Business Champion in their Airborne Persistent Surveillance, Mapping and Resource Management Commercial Optical Sensor Systems Groups.

Mr. Weilbach spent 18 years at Raytheon Company. His last assignment was at Raytheon Technical Services Company where he was Business Development Executive leading the Security and Intel Business Development Group and Capture Manager for the $2.2B Counter Narco Terrorism Program Office recompete. Mr. Weilbach served in increasing positions of responsibility in Raytheon’s
Intelligence and Information Systems Division as Business Development Manager, Capture Manager, and Program Manager. On the Mission and Resource Management (MRM) Leadership Team, and as a certified IIS Level 4 Program Leader and Capture Manager, he led several complex ground systems captures for National customers. Before assuming this position, Weilbach was Lead Six Sigma Expert and Risk and Opportunities Manager for the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS). In this role, he led the Six Sigma, Training and Process (STP) Group which mitigated $1.9M of program risk, realized $1.2M in opportunities and earned $4.56M in sales through completion of 18 Six Sigma projects.

Prior to NPOESS, Weilbach led the successful capture of the GILPIN Program for the Government Systems sub-product line. Under his leadership, his team unseated a 28-year incumbent, and won a $192M ground system development program. Before GILPIN, Weilbach was a Six Sigma Expert for Government Systems, headquartered at the Aurora Campus in Colorado, with $650 million in backlog and comprised of more than 25 programs, across 20 different customers with better than 500 employees in over 8 different countries. –
