Following the passage of HB 23-1296, several subcommittees have met during the interim. The subcommittees have been working on suggestions to address the rights of Coloradans with Disabilities. Below are links to ideas brought forth by each subcommittee.
- Government Subcommittee– focus on basic physical and programmatic accessibility within state and local government.
- Housing Subcommittee – study and make recommendations related to the affordability, accessibility, and attainability of housing for persons with disabilities.
- Outdoors Subcommittee – study and make recommendations related to the basic accessibility of outdoor spaces for persons with disabilities.
- Rewrite Subcommittee – study and make recommendations concerning the various issues related to the rewrite and modernization of the Colorado Revised Statutes concerning civil rights of persons with disabilities.
Based on feedback, the Chamber submitted comments on the ideas put forth by the CADA Rewrite Subcommittee as they have the largest impact on Colorado’s businesses. You can find a memo with the Chamber’s comments here.
