The Colorado Chamber is recognizing members of our staff to highlight the hard work they do to be a unifying voice for business and champion a healthy economic climate to secure Colorado’s future.
As Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for the Colorado Chamber, Ed Sealover focuses on proactively benefiting Colorado’s business community. One of his main areas of work is collaborating with public and private organizations to improve the state’s workforce development system. Ed also writes and edits The Sum & Substance, a business-policy news site launched in February 2023 to increase public discussion around important business issues.
What Ed enjoys most about his role is helping people achieve their dreams of running successful businesses and creating jobs in their communities. His experience as a newspaper reporter during the pandemic made him realize that businesses are not faceless entities but groups of people working toward meaningful goals. Being part of efforts to support these goals and make a positive impact on their lives is what motivates him every day.
A project Ed is particularly proud of is his leadership in the Education to Employment Alliance, a coalition focused on workforce development. He played a key role in passing a bill that will establish regional talent development summits across Colorado. Currently, Ed is working closely with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade to plan these summits and ensure employers have a voice in shaping career pathways that meet their workforce needs.
Outside of work, Ed is passionate about spending time with his family, including his wife Denise, 10-year-old son Lincoln and 8-year-old daughter Jane. As a family, they are on a mission to visit all 42 Colorado state parks and have already visited all 20 Wheat Ridge parks and all 27 Jefferson County open spaces. Ed also enjoys coaching his son’s soccer team and is an avid craft beer aficionado. He’s written two books about Colorado breweries and enjoys hiking and traveling in his free time.
Ed’s favorite place in Colorado is Mesa Verde National Park, where he and his family have camped and hiked multiple times. Closer to home, he enjoys taking visitors to Mount Falcon Park outside of Morrison to explore the remains of the once-planned Summer White House. For Ed, living and working in Colorado means being able to work hard and then escape into the state’s amazing natural beauty.
