On May 13, the 2026 Colorado Legislative session came to an end. The 120-day session was thankfully less dramatic than other recent sessions, but it was also less defined by successful lawmaking.

One theme of this legislative session was a friendly stance toward business. For the most part, this is a necessary shift. Colorado is one of the most regulated states in the country and one of the Colorado Chamber of Commerce’s main goals for the session was a bill to mandate regular reviews of the state’s myriad rules and regulations. The chamber got that and more. To keep Colorado thriving, we need a healthy business community. Reviewing the state’s regulations is a good way to make sure we are an inviting place to do business. But as with all things, moderation is key and Colorado must continue to balance a business-friendly agenda with commonsense protections for workers and the environment.
