Today’s feature is Patrick Hart with One Call Rentals

One Call Rentals has been serving Colorado businesses for over 20 years, providing essential equipment rentals and fueling services with a focus on reliability and efficiency. Since its founding, the business has been guided by a commitment to building lasting relationships, helping clients save time and manage costs while delivering consistent service.

Building on a well-established reputation across Colorado, One Call Rentals was acquired by Patrick Hart in 2025. With a background in the finance sector, Hart brings a diverse set of experiences and knowledge of what makes a business successful. He is committed to continuing to deliver the personalized solutions and exceptional customer service One Call Rentals has been known for since 2006.

Hart began his career in finance, first relocating to Denver from Omaha to help launch Ardent Mills, a leader in flour supply. He eventually transitioned to commodity trading roles, merchandising wheat at several Denver and Commerce City flour mills. He then went on to co-found a trading group, where he traded physical grains across the globe as well as financial futures and options. After the trading group was acquired by private equity, Hart shifted his focus to One Call Rentals and operating Hart Commodity Consulting, where he provides financial services to public and private entities in the United States and abroad.

After investing in business and development projects abroad, Hart realized he wanted to spend more time at home where he could make an impact on the local community. With many parallels between fueling, equipment rental and commodity trading, One Call Rentals was the perfect opportunity.

The primary challenge Hart has faced since acquiring One Call Rentals has been managing regulatory burden and minimizing overhead costs while navigating an ownership transition. He says administrative responsibilities can quickly consume an owner’s time, particularly as new systems and processes are introduced. The upfront effort to introduce technological solutions, he noted, can be especially time-consuming.

When it comes to accomplishments, Hart emphasizes the importance of reinvestment and outreach. Through his leadership, the company has prioritized investing in employees and customers while expanding its presence in the community, efforts that have helped drive significant growth and attract new customers who were previously unaware of the business.

His advice to those looking to start a business is to understand the differences between being a business owner and an employee. “When you own a business you are hunting for your own food. When you are an employee, you are given food in exchange for your time. There is no right or wrong path, it ultimately comes down to one’s personality, appetite for risk and life circumstances.”
