Some 25 middle school students from both Chaffee and Lake bested their peers to advance to state:County schools competed in the 2026 National Civics Bee® regional competition on April 26, at the American Legion hall in Buena Vista. Three, public school students bested their peers to advance to state competition.
The event was hosted by the League of Women Voters Chaffee County and Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Colorado Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Daniels Fund and the Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Ark Valley Voice has been the local media sponsor of the Ark Valley Civics Bee since its inception in 2023.
