In honor of Black History Month, the Colorado Chamber is recognizing Black business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, and job creators who have grown their businesses from the ground up and are core to our local Colorado communities.
Today’s feature is Darius McCurty with Kodiak Interiors Group

Darius McCurty serves as chief financial officer of Kodiak Interiors Group, where he oversees financial strategy, investor relations and compliance. He brings more than 15 years of experience in accounting and finance, having held roles of increasing responsibility, most recently driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence as senior vice president and corporate controller at Kodiak Building Partners.
During his 11 years with Kodiak Building Partners, the company’s revenue grew by more than $3 billion, and its workforce expanded to more than 6,000 employees, positioning it as one of Colorado’s largest privately held companies.
Colorado-based Kodiak Interiors Group is a family of companies delivering high-quality appliance and interior products to professional builders, contractors, remodelers and consumers. The organization partners with successful, independent businesses and provides the tools, resources and support needed to scale while remaining rooted in the communities and values that define them.
Kodiak Interiors Group currently operates five companies offering appliances, flooring, cabinets and other interior products across more than 35 locations in six states: Arizona, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington and West Virginia.
As a member of the executive leadership team, McCurty focuses on fostering financial transparency and building strong investor partnerships aligned with the organization’s long-term goals. His leadership emphasizes collaboration, sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Beyond his role at Kodiak, McCurty is an active member of the Denver business community. He was a recipient of the Denver Business Journal’s 2023 C-Suite Award and serves on the Colorado Chamber Foundation board of directors. He is also a member of the Colorado Chamber of Commerce Chair’s Roundtable, where senior leaders engage in dialogue on short- and long-term policy issues impacting the business community. Additionally, McCurty is an active member of the National Association of Black Accountants and was nominated to lead its Denver chapter.
Outside of work, McCurty enjoys playing sports and volunteers his time as a youth tackle football coach.
