Faces Behind the Chamber: Laura Moss

The Colorado Chamber is recognizing members of our staff to highlight the hard work they do to be a unifying voice for business and champion a healthy economic climate to secure Colorado’s future.

As Manager of Operations, Laura keeps all of the Colorado Chamber’s critical programs and departments running smoothly and is vital to the team. She provides IT and AV support, manages tasks such as newsletters and meeting notices and maintains administrative systems. She also supports various departments at the Chamber, including the Government Affairs team.

Reflecting on her achievements, Laura is particularly proud of her work on the recent legislative candidate interviews, where she coordinated all of the candidates scheduled for an interview and ensured a seamless execution of the program.

Some of Laura’s favorite events at the Colorado Chamber are the National Civics Bee State Finals and the Coolest Thing Made in Colorado contest. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see middle school students actively engaged in civics, and as a parent, she takes pride in every student who competes. Laura also enjoys discovering remarkable products made in Colorado, such as the Dobrato Resophonic Guitar and Meier Skis who were finalists in the Coolest Thing Made in Colorado competition in recent years.

Outside of her professional life, Laura enjoys hiking, camping, cooking, gardening, crafting and reading. She also loves taking care of her cats, Vooshie and Taz. To relax after a busy day, Laura likes to sit on her deck and watch the neighborhood wildlife, including ducks, hawks and even bats.

Laura loves exploring the state’s various hot springs, with Cottonwood Hot Springs being one of her favorite hidden gems. As a native of Charleston, South Carolina, Laura enjoys Colorado’s weather and the opportunity to experience all four seasons. She particularly values the many sunny days Colorado has and the vast blue skies.

In addition to outdoor adventures, Laura appreciates Colorado’s cultural attractions. She enjoys attending concerts, with Red Rocks being her favorite venue, and visiting museums like the Denver Art Museum and the Museum of Nature and Science. Recently, she toured the Weisbrod Aircraft Museum in Pueblo and the National Museum of World War II Aviation in Colorado Springs.
