Chamber Member Feature: Affordable Concrete

In honor of Black History Month, the Colorado Chamber is recognizing Black business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, and job creators who have grown their businesses from the ground up and are core to our local Colorado communities.

Today’s feature is Roger Bartlett with Affordable Concrete

Affordable Concrete LLC is a full-service general construction company with specialties in concrete, commercial and office renovations, asphalt, civil, and demolition services.  The firm was established by Roger Bartlett in 2005 to safely perform superior construction services for private, public, and government sectors.

“I started this company with my own savings, originally focused on residential concrete. As we grew, we transitioned to commercial construction and now focus more on the management side of the construction industry,” Roger said. “We provide engineering services, facilities maintenance, construction oversight, and concrete installation. Our clients range from the federal government to city and county government.”

Over the years Affordable Concrete has grown to be a successful full-service construction company by staffing all its projects with exceptional skilled personnel that have decades of experience, unparalleled safety standards, and a humble understanding that there is always more to learn.

“Seeing my mom as an entrepreneur and growing up in the construction industry inspired me to create job opportunities for my community,” he said.

Roger is the national small business chair with Associated General Contractors. He also was mentored by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Hansel Phelps, and had the opportunity to work on the Great Hall project at Denver International Airport, which he says has been beneficial to the growth of his company.

Affordable Concrete values community involvement and is involved in volunteer projects like Habitat for Humanity. The company also uses local resources for labor, services, and products as much as possible and contribute their services to help those in need.

“Making a difference and changing lives is most rewarding,” Roger said.
