Government Affairs Council Votes to Support SB 20
This week the Colorado Chamber’s Government Affairs Policy Council took a “support” position for Senate Bill 20 by Sen. Chris Hansen, Sen. Dennis Hisey, Rep. Alex Valdez, and Rep. Matt Soper.
The bill ensures that clean energy resources and energy storage systems used to store electricity are assessed for valuation for the purpose of property taxation in a similar manner to renewable energy facility property used to generate and deliver electricity – using the “income approach” instead of the currently utilized “cost approach.”
SB 20 passed the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday and is scheduled on the Senate Floor next week. Read the full bill here.
