Send your HR Directors! They will thank you!

I want to encourage you, or your HR Director, to attend The Colorado Chamber’s Labor and Employment Councils this year. This council will discuss bills that may significantly impact manufacturers and your input will be requested.

The L&E Council protects businesses that are highly affected by labor and employment issues. The Council addresses issues that include:

  • Attempts to repeal or erode the Colorado Labor Peace Act;
  • Employer restrictions or mandates that increase costs for businesses;
  • Attempts to increase workers’ comp and unemployment insurance costs;
  • Implementing legislation on organized labor initiatives;
  • Administrative actions by the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment.

All meetings are held at noon at The Colorado Chamber on the dates below. Lunch is provided. RSVP to [email protected]

Micro-summits for The Colorado Chamber supported HB13-1165

Last year The Colorado Chamber and CMI Manufacturers supported HB13-1165, the Manufacturing Career Pathways bill. Since the summer Danielle Glover, CMI Program Manager, has been working with the Colorado Community College System to ensure the implementation of the pathway was what manufacturers wanted.

Starting this month, CCCS is holding micro-summits in Pueblo, Grand Junction, Montrose, Denver, and Larimer/Weld counties and collecting information from employers on what skills are needed in the regions across Colorado. Please consider attending one of these summits or sending a representative to ensure your voice is heard.

The letter CCCS sent to manufacturers with details can be found here. You can register for the summit in your area by clicking here.
