CACI’s Fed Council Tours Anheuser-Busch with Head Brewmaster

On Tuesday, CACI’s Federal Policy Council headed north to Ft. Collins to explore one of the brewing industry’s historic leaders.  Members learned from manufacturing plant manager Gene Bopcis about why A-B chose their location just outside of Ft. Collins (hint: It’s the same reason other brewers and distillers love our state … The water!) We also learned about and witnessed the basic brewing process from fresh water, barley, rice and the other essential of fragrant hops from Brewmaster Tim Seitz.

CACI members got to see industry standards and where Anheuser-Busch has innovated since they began serving customers in 1876 – whether to meet customer taste preferences, consumer demand or the aesthetics of their signature cans and iconic logos.  In the tasting lab, we also learned why brewing pale ales is so difficult (you can’t hide any bitter notes or imperfections) and how A-B has grown to represent American beers around the world.

Special thanks go to the A-B team for our VIP, behind-the-scenes access, and for being a great supporter of CACI’s mission to create a better business environment here in Colorado.
